Are you going to be in Cork this week? Myself and Maeve Halpin will be speaking as a part of the Positive Living Week, being put on by RehabCare. Maeve Halpin is a counselling psychologist at Appletree Health and Wellness, and is also one of the other Co-Authors of our recent book, How to be Happy and Healthy – The Seven Natural Elements of Mental Health.
We will be giving practical advice on how to improve your mental health by enhancing your physical health.
Our talk will take place in RehabCare Resource Centre, Bachelor’s Quay (beside the Gate Cinema), Cork City at 2.30pm on Thursday 20th November. The talk, which is open to the general public, is part of RehabCare’s Positive Living Week which takes place from 17th-20th November. Spaces must be reserved by calling 021 4907610.
Those suffering with mental health problems as well as their families, health professionals of all disciplines, and anyone who wishes to take control of their mental and emotional well being are invited to attend the talk along with the other sessions during RehabCare’s Positive Living Week. Admission is free to all events. Parking is available in Dunnes Stores on North Main Street.

2-3pm – Dance (Modern and hip hop)
Tuesday 18th Nov
10am – 12pm: Cancer talk by Cork Cancer Screening (cervical/breast/bowel) and opportunity for retinal diabetes screening test (by a nurse)
12.15 – 1.30pm: Massage
2 – 3pm: Yoga
2.30 – 4pm: Healthy Eating Cooking Demonstration from with Weightwatchers instructor
Wednesday 19th Nov
10am-12.30pm: Boccia Tournament
11am-12pm: Women’s Health Talk
12.15 – 1pm: Nutrition and Food Waste Talk
1.30 – 2.30 pm: Mindfulness (Introductory session followed by practising techniques)
Thursday 20th Nov
11am-12pm: An information session by Cork Mental Health Foundation
12.15-1pm: Healthy Living Table Quiz
2.30pm: Talk by Maeve Halpin and Nicole Paulie – How to be Happy and Healthy.
